Job Title: Production Supervisor
Reports To: Production Manager

Summary: The Production Supervisor works under the structure established by the Department Manager. At all times this person has responsibility for matters of safety, sanitation, quality and efficiency while supervising and coordinating the activities within the production department.
The Production Supervisor is responsible to coordinate and direct all employees on the various production lines and work with the Department Manager to ensure that the daily workload is completed within a reasonable time and at the desired quality levels determined.

|E||Review processing schedules and production orders to transfer the necessary raw materials and supplies from warehouse to production.|
|E||Collect quantitative and qualitative production records needed to evaluate cutting yields and productivity as well as records needed for quality assurance.|
|E||Maintain a level of Good manufacturing Procedures (GMP) that meets all federal, state, local and company requirements.|
|E||Determine daily staffing requirements based on workload and assignment of duties to fulfill each production line needs.|
|E||Train, administer and enforce USDA & HACCP plans.|
|Maintain product quality standards and results acceptable to customer and company requirements.|
|E||Implement safety programs resulting in continued safety awareness and safe conditions|
|Prepare production timesheets.|
|Have a good working knowledge and be able to perform all essential functions in operating the following production machinery; injector, tumbler, skin packer, slicers, band saw, repac machine and metal detectors. Must be able to supervise employees operating these machinery.|
|Able to perform in a temporary capacity in the absence of the department manager|
|Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned by management.|
Supervise 8-15 employees in the Production Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience – High School Diploma or GED, a minimum of one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills – Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Skills – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities –
- Must have knowledge, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance in at least 4 of the following production department machinery; RET Repac, TRE Multi-Vac, Tumbler, Slicers, Injector, Band Saw, Meat Grinder, Flaker, Weiler Mixer, V-Mag Stuffer, Tipper Tie/Clipper and/or Metal Detectors

- Ability to work overtime as required to complete tasks
